Question 9

What is the difference between Reformer & Mat pilates ?

Accepted Answer

The primary difference between Mat and Reformer Pilates lies in the equipment used and the type of exercises performed. Mat Pilates involves exercises performed on a mat using body weight for resistance, focusing on core strength, flexibility, and overall body conditioning.

Reformer Pilates, on the other hand, uses a specialized machine called a reformer, which includes a sliding carriage, springs, and pulleys to provide variable resistance and support, allowing for a wider range of exercises and more precise control. Both methods aim to improve strength, balance, flexibility, and are a ton of fun!!!
